How To Install PSP CFW 6.60 PRO-B9

Oktober 3, 2011 · Posted in Videos zu Playstation

A simple tutorial on how to install PSP Custom Firmware 6.60 PRO-B9. The PSP Official Firmware link is here: au.playstation.com The PSP Custom Firmware link is here: psp.dashhacks.com All credit for the custom firmware/finding the hack goes to the Developers listed on the PSP-Hacks site. I am simply making this video to show those with less know-how the way to go about installing it. Also, a credit to David281190 for letting me know that the CIPL Flasher does not work on any if not all PSP 3000’s and GO’s. You can try this at your own risk, but may brick your PSP.

@pranavmukhi1 Unless you have a Pandora battery or know how to reset your PSP to factory settings I do not know else to fix up the PSP. Are you on firmware 6.60 official?

@pranavmukhi1 May I ask what PSP you have? 1000, 2000, 3000 or GO?

If you have tried on the 3000 or GO, then this may be bad news. I have stated in the description though as to the risks involved with attempting this on a 3000 or GO.

@pranavmukhi1 If your PSP is still hacked, what you need to do is press select, and change your USB from “memory stick” to “flash 0″ then plug your PSP into your computer and enter USB mode to find the version.txt file in there, and then edit it. If you have updated your PSP you will need to downgrade and then hack again to get access to your flash 0.

Otherwise there is nothing else I can think of that would corrupt your version. Hope this helps!

@ashadamin If that is the case, you will have to keep an eye on the PSP-Hacks site I posted in the description for a possible update to the CIPL flasher. For now unfortunately you cannot do that. With free games, I will not say specifically where to get them, as I buy most of my games, or copy them from friends discs. I will however say a simple Google for “PSP ISO’s” will get you to some helpful websites.

    Thanks for the feedback =]

Oh gawd thank you so much!! Works absolutely brilliantly; up to now you’re the clearest, most concise tutorial person I’ve seen yet.

My thumbs and those of my unborn children go up to you.

@AznJr3610 You cannot remove the CFW files once you have installed it. I installed my CFW and then swapped memory sticks to one without the files, and whenever I started up my PSP after that it froze on the boot screen. Basically as long as the memory stick in the PSP has the CFW files on it, nothing can go wrong =]

  13. AznJr3610 on Oktober 3rd, 2011 14:42

once you hack it can you delete one of the files?

  14. HolmesInFive on Oktober 3rd, 2011 14:42

@shaun90 What you will need to look for in your PSP (most likely the root folder) is a file called “version.txt”. When you open it the .txt file should simply say “9.90″. All you need to do to undo the version spoof is either go into your PSP’s recovery menu and turn off “use version.txt file” or delete the .txt file all together. I would just delete it completely, as this hack is for the most recent firmware regardless.

    Hope I helped =]

hi… sory for the questions but i have google it and yet I got no answer.
I’m now running 5.50 Gen-D and i want to install CFW ProB, but it need to install the OFW first… how can I install OFW on my currently CFW because when I’m run the update it said “system is version 9.90. There no need to update”. HOW CAN I RESOLVE THIS??!! THANKS!!

@darkerca Glad it worked! Enjoy the hacked PSP =]

@HolmesInFive Cool, i did it, and it works like a charm. Im playing Final Fantasy 8 on it now lol. I appreciate you taking time to make this vid :)

  18. HolmesInFive on Oktober 3rd, 2011 14:42

@darkerca You can download these in any order, as long as they all end up on your memory stick. As for the SDK folder, it isn’t necessary. To be honest for the CFW I don’t see what you need it for, as you can see I installed it without that folder =]

  19. darkerca on Oktober 3rd, 2011 14:42

    What about the sdk folder?

  20. darkerca on Oktober 3rd, 2011 14:42

Do i need to download the official first?
